I've fancied having a go at making some cupcakes with rose-style piping for a while now. This was my first attempt. Not brilliant but a bit of practice and the right nozzle should make all the difference! In fact, comparing my first effort (top right) with the 4th (top left) shows that a bit of practice makes quite a bit of difference. These particular cakes were a gluten and wheat free version of my usual coffee and walnut cakes. Not as light as the usual wheat-laiden variety but, having heard the horror stories of gluten-free baking, I have to say that they actually turned out pretty well and very much better than I'd expected!
